Sales Collateral for School Fundraising Program
I worked with LoyaltyXP, a school fundraising company, to rewrite much of its promotional as well as the information kits it provides schools and parents. It’s really a great program – unlike traditional school fundraisers, this one raises money by piggybacking on existing shopping behavior of parents.
To be fair, it does encourage shopping at specific stores, but I remember painfully the year after year after year that I walked door to door, clutching my thin brochure of crappy “gift” items – wrapping paper, cheese, note cubes, sausage, candles – in my sweaty hands and dreading the next rude neighbor. Or selling boxes of chocolate that hadn’t been stored properly and were consequently speckled and unappealing, leading to customer service issues no twelve-year-old should have to deal with. Uh-oh, I’m spiralling. My point is, if a school has to fundraise – and every school has to fundraise – this is a great way to do it, and I’m glad I was able to help.
Oh, here’s what I specifically did (since this is an elaborate resume of sorts): I worked with the VP of Marketing to rewrite emails, direct mail letters, articles, ads and brochures in order to emphasize how easy and profitable it is to participate in the program.
